How to include your baby in your Healthcare policy

Congratulations, new mum! You have a family Healthcare policy, you’ve just found out you’re pregnant and now you want to include childcare in the family policy. We’re here to show you how.

1.- Childbirth. To cover the birth of your child, you would have to have taken out the policy at least eight (8) months before the beginning of the pregnancy (this is the habitual grace period during which the cover is not activated). All the care required during gestation and the birth itself will be covered provided this condition is met.

2.- The first 24 hours. The baby is covered during the first day in hospital. The grace periods are cancelled if you insure it immediately. A simple telephone call is all it takes.

3.- From 0 to 14 years old. Children in this age bracket require different healthcare than adults. They are more exposed to certain illnesses and to prevent these there is a vaccination schedule and periodic check-ups. The paediatricians will look after the children’s health during their early years.

One plan for all, without waiting lists

The best option is to add your baby to the Family Healthcare policy. A high percentage of the Spanish population has Healthcare Insurance. Its main advantages are quick access to appointments with specialists and the choice of doctors at the clinic.

Your health is the priority, but that of your children comes first.
