What if your grandmother’s jewels are stolen?

These objects have a dual value: what you would pay for them and the priceless worth of what they mean to you.

To include jewellery theft in your Home insurance you must get a valuer to calculate its worth. The valuation should be accompanied by a description and, if possible, a photograph and/or receipt. In the event of a theft, you will receive compensation for the estimated or declared value.

In most cases, where the value exceeds 1,500 euros or 10% of the insured contents you must have previously declared the items to claim compensation.
